A Study on Pollution Pricing vs. Cap-and-trade a Legal Comparative Study between Carbon Tax and Emission Trading Schemes

    R Dinesh Kumar*

This presents a legal comparative analysis of two predominant price mechanisms on carbon tax schemes and emissions (ETS), also known as cap-and-trade systems. As climate change accelerates due to excessive greenhouse gas emissions (BKG), governments adopt market-based tools all over the world to internalize the external effects on the environment and to promote carbon sequestration.
